Have you ever tried to use a new program with Adobe and needed to get a book four inches thick to figure it out? Well I have! I am middle aged. I didn't grow up with computers and all things considered including how this very creative non techie savvy brain works, I think I do pretty good! However those Adobe products although wonderful once you learn them, are both time consuming and expensive. Over fifty a month to RENT! I am done with putting money into such stuff!
So I went looking for another program and I heard about a new one called "Affinity". YAHOO! Some of the features are so much easier than Adobe photoshop for instance! Love it! The publishing program is only in the test stage and has bugs but who cares! It is free and it works so much like Adobe Indesign but with less hassles! It is so user friendly as is Affinity Photo! If you are like me and want something you can buy, has a lot of cool features but doesn't drag your computer down, then by all means, check it out! They are not very old so there are quirks but the good points so out weigh the bad! I wish I had had them when I started! Good news though is that they do accept photoshop files (and yup, still can do layers!). I am still figuring out a good deal but for twenty bucks, or under $15.00 you can get tutorials...and of course there is always utube! So, looks like I could be getting things together sooner rather than later now that I have made up my mind to go with Ingram Sparks and not Amazon which to me, has gotten too big, too aggressive and too messed up! This is too bad, I gave them a good deal of business over the years but that is going to stop the last time they disabled my visa card for no good reason and required a phone call for the fifth time! Forget it! I see, I witness and I do what I can do, that which is under my control, stop using it which is all I can do! So, check out the Affinity products BEFORE they get popular and greedy which seems to be the way of the world these days! Cheers!
